Climbing Trails

There are two climbing trails in Ravnfloget, called the Green and the Red. Before we decided to realize this climbing construction we did thorough studies both in Norway and other countries where Via Ferrata’s is built. We were very focused on safety and quality at all levels. Based on what we acquired from knowledge in the preliminary study, we chose to engage Norsk Boltefond to carry out a preliminary project that would form the basis for a decision to realize the project. During the preliminary project, several locations were considered. Norsk Boltefond was also chosen to build the climbing trails. We are very pleased with the result. Very exciting and exposed trails, but at the same time not all too physically demanding.

Green Trial

Green trail is 510 meters long and has 225 height meters. It has a steep start but is varied and fun to climb with incredible views of cultural landscapes, the sea and the islands with the island of Søla as the towering eyecatcher. After 30-40 min climbing, the Green and Red trail meets. A little while after the two trails meet, a rest area has been built where you can sit down and enjoy. From this point, there is more gentle climbing that gradually goes into some tougher challenges again. At the very top a ‘Nepal bridge’ has been built. For those who do not want to cross this one you can disconnect from the trail and walk the last few meters up to the top of Ravnfloget.

Red Trial

We do not allow this climbing until you have completed the Green trail. The Red has a length of 550 meters, and it has the same number of height meters as the Green (225 meters). The Red goes almost vertically up the wall for the first 150 meters, but then slightly slacker until it goes along with the green trail.

Although the Red trail is steep and exposed, solid foot steps and hand fasteners make you feel safe.

The trip up to the trail and the trip down from the top

From the parking at Sundsvoll up to the mount, a nice path has been made through an exciting landscape. The trip takes just under 30 minutes calm walking and has 100 height meters.

Returning down again goes on the wooden staircase ‘Vegatrappa’ built from the scree up to the top of Ravnfloget. This is an another exciting experience where several rest areas have been added.

Security

Safety is well looked after in Ravnfloget. And when everyone who climbs in advance has learned the safety regulations, we can almost guarantee a great experience in the mountain!
